Care of starry petunia:
Soil: Use loose, breathable and well-drained soil. You can mix peat soil, coconut bran and perlite, or you can mix peat soil, garden soil and river sand.
Light: Petunia likes the sun and cannot tolerate shade. Sufficient light will make it have strong branches, many branches, and large blooms. No need for shade in summer, the more sun the flowers will bloom, the better.
Fertilization: Apply thin fertilizer frequently. Topdressing with water-soluble fertilizer, compound fertilizer, or fermented bean cake fertilizer once every 10 days in spring and autumn is acceptable. In winter, when the temperature is higher than 5 degrees, fertilizer and water can also be supplemented.
Topping: If you want the flowers to bloom in the pot, you need to prune constantly to control the height of the plant and promote the germination of more new branches. When the petunia seedlings grow to about 5cm, they can be topping, and continue topping when new branches sprout. Repeat this, the branches will multiply, and they will soon grow into a large tree.
Watering: When it is dry or wet, remove accumulated water in time to avoid root rot. In autumn and winter, the watering interval can be extended. In summer, the high temperature must be protected from rain, and watering needs to be done from the bottom to avoid baldness.
Pruning: After flowering, the plants should be pruned appropriately in time to increase ventilation and light transmittance, especially in summer. The pruned branches can be propagated by cuttings, and one pot can be turned into multiple pots.
